WeltLabyrinth
.....is the new project of two well-known italian artists: Percussionist Tonj Acquaviva and singer Rosie Wiederkehr from the Electronic-Ethno-Formation Agricantus. With WeltLabyrinth they even go one step further. Born as a trip of sound through the contradictions of our society, Welt Labyrinth is inspired by the cultural mixtures and their ethnic, religous and cultural background. The new project of the sicilian percussionist and the swiss singer with the extraordinary voice probably can be defined best as a audiovisual, "ambientexperimental" mix. A mixtur, where rythms, sounds and voices of the different countries of our world melt, in the beat of industry. This labyrinth of sounds offers space; for the endless possibilities to hear, the endless variety of courses - without closing itself against differences. Unlike Agricantus, who identify themselves about the meeting ofethno and electro, Weltlabyrinth opens itself to the power of pictures. During the performance appears as well percussionst Laura Inserra, who works for years with well known contemporary artists. WeltLabyrinth is a fusion of rythms, sounds and voices, which Rosie Wiederkehr and Tonj Acquaviva did collect on their travels around the world and mixed in the pulse of industry. Sometimes those sounds seem disturbingly, sometimes aspirated; always they are the starting pointof this search, which begins in the chaos of life and the simultaneousness of incidents. A simultaneousness, which surrounds the whole planet like a labyrintic spider-net. In our headphones you can find the real world as unseren Kopfhörern as well as the dremed one, the cue in the supermarket like Yin and Yang or the technological suk which illuminates the night. Mythologically seen the labyrint is a game about time and space, a difficult but necessary trip, which ends in meeting with the monster, the Minotaurus. Even our life, in the middle of a always more frenetic and overpopulated world, is defined by those conflicts. The labyrinth as well stands for a trip into the own psyche, a inner course into a world obsessed by a excess of possibilities. To find the way gets always more difficult; but to loose oneself - one knows it - is a well a finding oneself again. There is one thing sure in it: The point of departure is the game. Without that everything would be very boring.... |
